In IPL 2026, 13 stadiums across 3 different states/UTs of India will be covered. This will be the first time in IPL history where 13 venues will be used in one season. Three new venues are being added to the IPL 2026 schedule: Jaipur, Dharamsala, and Raipur. This will allow the IPL to cover a wider geographical area. This will also allow for new home and new away matches for franchises that are having venues shifted due to elections. Multiple high-profile matches, including Qualifier 2, will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the world’s largest cricket stadium.

Venue Challenges and Safety Clearance in Bengaluru
BCCI, the IPL Governing Council, and RCB in particular were extremely concerned about safety and readiness of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The stadium was under a lot of scrutiny due to the crowds that surged after RCB won the title in 2025. The Government of Karnataka formed an Expert Committee to address crowd management, emergency management, and emergency system of management to determine if the IPL 2026 matches will be allowed to be played there. The Expert Committee conducted their assessment in the middle of March 2026, and after a full-scale mock demonstration, the stadium was approved to host matches.
The BCCI planned all RCB home matches to be moved to Raipur if Bengaluru didn’t receive clearance. This is why RCB has been allocated some Phase 2 matches at Raipur as a precautionary measure. The league put a greater emphasis on new satellite venues to reduce the number of election-affected venues in the league.
- The Rajasthan Royals will play their Phase 1 home matches at Guwahati (Barsapara Stadium) and will also return to Jaipur (SMS Stadium) for Phase 2.
- Punjab Kings play Phase 1 at New Chandigarh (PCA Stadium) and move to Dharamsala (HPCA Stadium) for some fixtures in Phase 2.
- RCB will play some fixtures in Phase 2 at Raipur (SVNSI Stadium) apart from their home ground at Bengaluru.
